Palouse Falls in Washington State is well off the beaten path. I will never forget the thousands of tumbleweeds blowing around in the road on my trip from Olympic National Park to Palouse Falls. While all the trails down to the falls are closed, the viewpoints from the top are spread around and offer great views of the waterfall and the gorge. My other memory of the falls was all the swallows navigating the gorge making quick banking maneuvers like fighter jets on patrol. What an evening spent with a gorgeous waterfall!
