This is Portland Head Lighthouse in Portland, Maine. I stopped in Portland one night on my way up to Acadia National Park, I gave myself one night and therefore one morning to get whatever shot I could get. I scouted out how to get to the lighthouse the night before but the park was gated so I could not explore the viewpoints I could choose from. The morning came and it looked promising as I drove to the lighthouse. But to my horror the gates were still closed so I sat outside them in my car. Time ticked away minute by minute and the sky was starting to light up. After what felt like an eternity they opened the gate and I rushed in and found the lighthouse. I acted quickly to access the angles for my shot and set up quickly. Everything was a rush that morning but I came away with an image that I really love!
