A female Black Bear in the Cades Cove section of the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. I was photographing this bear from a safe distance. But I was totally engrossed in my compositions and failed to take into account that the bear was moving towards me diagonally. At some point I lowered the camera and realized the bear happened to be getting too close. I had to stop taking photographs and back off towards my car!
